The Best Irish Coffee Recipe (Gen)

This is a bootneck-proof way to make an Irish Coffee, where the cream stays on top instead of sinking to the bottom. Tastes damn good too. The secret is tinned coconut milk! Yes, the stuff you add to curry...

Suitable for: Killing lockdown boredom, showing off to your mates (once you can see them), or getting that warm and fuzzy feeling anytime of the day!

Here's what you'll need:

  • Coffee - finely ground (Green Beret Coffee obviously)

  • Tinned coconut milk (left in fridge overnight to separate cream from water - its only the coconut cream you need)

  • Whiskey of choice

  • Coconut or brown sugar

Method:

  1. Make a shot of espresso with your Moka pot or Aeropress Go and pour into a pussers issue heatproof glass.

  2. Add boiling water until an inch or so from the top of glass.

  3. Add sugar to taste and a shot(ish) of whiskey. Stir that shit up!

  4. Scoop 1-2 tablespoons of the coconut cream (which should be hardened and separated from the coconut water) and drop in the glass.

  5. This is where the magic happens. The coconut cream will sink to the bottom of the glass and then slowly rise to the top where it will spread to give you the perfect layer of cream. Boom.

  6. Sprinkle a bit of sugar on top of the cream and then enjoy. You've earnt it.

Brucey Bonus Tips:

  • Don't get a cheap tin of coconut milk, they don't seem to separate as well

  • Chuck the coconut water left in the tin in your next smoothie
